Report: Sergio Aguero to leave Manchester City on a free transfer

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is reportedly on his way out of the Etihad Stadium, with Barcelona among the clubs interested in signing the striker on a free transfer.

Sergio Aguero will reportedly end his decade-long association with Manchester City this summer by leaving on a free transfer.

The Argentina international joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has gone on to become the club's all-time leading scorer.

However, Aguero has struggled for fitness over the past year and has not scored in the Premier League since January 2020.

With his deal set to expire at the end of June, the Daily Mail claims that Aguero will seek a new challenge ahead of next season.

Barcelona are said to hold an interest in the 32-year-old, potentially seeing him team up with compatriot Lionel Messi, while David Beckham-owned Inter Miami have also been linked.

A return to Independiente, where Aguero started his career and spent three years in the senior side, is another rumoured possibility.
