Report: Manchester City close to Paulinho deal

Manchester City reportedly send director of football Txiki Begiristain to Brazil in a bid to sign Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.

Manchester City are reportedly in advanced talks with Corinthians over a proposed move for Brazil international Paulinho.

The English champions are keen to bring in another midfielder to provide cover for Yaya Toure, who will jet off to the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

According to The Mirror, City director of football Txiki Begiristain has flown to Brazil in a bid to complete an £11m deal for Paulinho.

Paulinho, 24, has been capped eight times at senior international level.
