Wayne Bridge linked with loan to Sunderland

Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge is close to signing for Sunderland on loan, according to reports.

Sunderland have reportedly made a bid to sign Wayne Bridge on loan from Manchester City.

Bridge has made one appearance for City this season and Martin O'Neill is keen on bringing the England international to the Stadium of Light, according to the Independent.

A portion of Bridge's £85,000 wages will continues to be paid by City as part of the deal.

It is expected that the deal could be completed tomorrow and Bridge may be available for selection against Norwich in the evening.

Sunderland are currently tenth in the Premier League.
