West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce could reportedly make a move for Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic before the end of the month.
The Serbian is believed to have been told that he can leave City, which has alerted German club Schalke 04.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Allardyce may also firm up his interest in the 21-year-old by making a bid as he looks to secure a long-term replacement for Winston Reid, who is expected to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer.
It has been suggested that Schalke are keen to recruit Nastasic on loan, but the Hammers would prefer a permanent deal.
