Goals from Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia help Manchester United ease into the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup.

Manchester United have eased into the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup with a 3-0 victory over Aldershot at the EBB Stadium.

The Premier League champions took the lead after a quarter of an hour through Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov who finished after Tom Cleverley's cutback.

Michael Owen doubled the lead ahead of the break before Antonio Valencia sealed the win soon after half-time with a fierce long-range effort.

The home side pushed for a goal but were unable to find a way past Ben Amos between the United posts.

The quarter-final draw takes place on Saturday.
