Louis van Gaal: "Big pressure" on Manchester United

Louis van Gaal explains why he feels that there is "big pressure" on Manchester United ahead of their Champions League qualifier with Club Brugge.

Louis van Gaal has talked up the "big pressure" on his Manchester United side ahead of the visit from Club Brugge in their Champions League qualifier this evening.

The Dutchman explained that he wants to see his players retain possession better against the Belgian side, and acknowledged there is an expectancy that his team will progress into the group phase of Europe's premier competition.

"Yes, we know that there is a big pressure on us [tonight]," Van Gaal told BT Sport. "We need experience but we also need to keep the ball. What we missed in the last two matches is we lost the ball too easily.

"In other areas we are good and that is why we have won both games. I think we are losing the ball too easily. I have explained that and we expect that to improve.

"It is more difficult than ever, but that is football. We need a solution to [playing against] organised defenders."

United have recorded back-to-back victories in the Premier League so far this season.
