Louis van Gaal: 'I'm very happy for Memphis Depay after Champions League goals'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says that he is "very happy" for forward Memphis Depay following his goals in the club's 3-1 Champions League win over Club Brugge.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has revealed his delight at the performance of Memphis Depay in the club's 3-1 Champions League qualification win over Club Brugge.

Depay was twice on the scoresheet as United set themselves up for potential progression into the group stages with victory in their first-leg encounter.

"I am very happy for Memphis because a player needs that," said Van Gaal, according to The Express.

"I said it was a matter of time and hopefully he shall continue.

"He is 21 and he has only played two seasons for PSV, I have confidence in him."

United have started the new season well, winning both of their opening Premier League fixtures.
