How Manchester United could line up against LASK Linz

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for Wednesday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Austrian side LASK Linz.

Manchester United hold a commanding 5-0 lead over LASK Linz heading into Wednesday evening's last-16 second leg at Old Trafford.

Odion Ighalo, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Andreas Pereira and Mason Greenwood were all on target in March's reverse fixture as United all but sealed a place in the quarter-finals.

The Red Devils will now use this match as a chance to give some fringe players a chance to stake a claim for the quarters, with Istanbul Basaksehir or Copenhagen up next.

Ahead of Wednesday's match against out-of-form LASK, who are now under new management, Sports Mole looks at how United could line up.

United face a run of six games in three weeks if they make it all the way to the final, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will almost certainly use the first of those matches as an opportunity to rotate.

The likes of Mata, Jesse Lingard, James, Fred and Scott McTominay are all pushing for recalls, having largely been overlooked for selection since June's restart.

Ighalo is another who has had to make do with substitute appearances but he should start here, with Greenwood, who has scored more Europa League goals than any other United player this season, providing back-up.

Shaw and Tuanzebe are United's only confirmed absentees, paving the way for Brandon Williams to return to the side at left-back.

In goal, the spotlight will be taken off David de Gea as cup specialist Sergio Romero returns to the side.
