Slaven Bilic confident of Manchester United replay success

Slaven Bilic insists that West Ham United are still in a strong position to overcome Manchester United and progress through to the final four of the FA Cup.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has admitted that Sunday evening's 1-1 draw against Manchester United left his side feeling down, but is still confident of progressing in the FA Cup.

Anthony Martial cancelled out Dimitri Payet's earlier opener seven minutes from time at Old Trafford, ensuring that the quarter-final tie will have to be replayed later this month.

Bilic revealed after the match that the West Ham dressing room was "very silent" following the late equaliser, while also claiming that the Red Devils will pose a tougher task in the return match.

"Manchester United are a different team when they play away and don't have that confidence," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"Here, it is very hard to play with 75,000 fans and this atmosphere. [The replay] is going to be a tough game, but I fancy us because we're going to be even more confident.

"We could have held on for 1-0 and on counter-attacks I was expecting to create one, two or three more clear-cut chances. Our dressing room was, and still is, very silent. I'm not over the moon but it means we are moving in a good direction."

A date for the replay will be set following the outcome of Man United's Europa League showdown with Liverpool next Thursday evening.
