Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has reportedly been ruled out of the Manchester derby.
The Red Devils host rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and would go level on points with Pep Guardiola's side if they emerge victorious.
Cavani earned just his second league start of the campaign at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend and scored the second goal in a 3-0 win.
However, according to Uruguayan journalist Rodrigo Romano, the 34-year-old will not feature in the derby due to "severe pain in a tendon".
The journalist adds that Cavani sustained the injury in the closing stages of the win over Spurs and it meant he was unable to start against Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek.
The news comes after the striker was not included in the Uruguay squad for their World Cup qualifiers this month for "medical reasons".
