Rio Ferdinand bemoans the cost of Harry Redknapp's recent tax evasion trial at Southwark Crown Court.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed his displeasure at Harry Redknapp's recent tax evasion case.

The Tottenham Hotspur boss was found not guilty of two counts of tax evasion earlier today along with former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric.

It has since been revealed that the investigation, which lasted almost six years, has cost the tax payer around £10m.

"Multi-million pound investigation of Redknapp spanning five years....who foots that bill?? You/me and all the other taxpayers!," Ferdinand wrote on Twitter.

Ferdinand also took the opportunity to speak of his happiness that Redknapp was cleared of any crime.

"Great to see Harry cleared of any wrong doing over 'tax evasion'. Glad for him + the Redknapp family," he added.

Ferdinand was handed his Premier League debut by Redknapp when the two worked together at West Ham United.
