Louis van Gaal blasts reporters in Manchester United press conference

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal blasts reporters in his latest press conference as he addresses claims that he is under pressure at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has blasted reporters in his latest press conference.

Van Gaal, who revealed that he only turned up to the latest conference due to "Premier League rules", asked the media for an apology as reports grow that the Dutchman is in the latter stages of his time at Old Trafford.

The experienced manager did reveal, however, that there had been a number of internal meetings this week to raise the players ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Stoke City, which could decide Van Gaal's future.

"Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me? That's what I am wondering," he asked reporters at the training complex. "I think I was already sacked I have read. Or have been sacked. Or that my colleague [Jose Mourinho] was here already.

"I have tried to lift the confidence of my players. I have done everything this week, held meetings with the players, my staff. I held a Christmas lunch, I have given a speech and I feel the support of everyone inside Carrington."

Van Gaal wished the media a happy Christmas and New Year before departing inside six minutes.
