Lou Macari rejects Roy Keane's claims about 'controlling' Sir Alex Ferguson

Lou Macari disagrees with Roy Keane's claims that former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Fergsuon craves "control and power".

Former Manchester United striker Lou Macari has rejected Roy Keane's claims that Sir Alex Ferguson continues to crave "control and power" despite retiring.

The Republic of Ireland assistant manager has suggested that the Scotsman's interference is affecting United's current form.

"I can't agree with Roy," Macari told BBC Radio Five Live.

"I've been at every Manchester United game this season and yes Sir Alex has been at a few of them but I've never seen him trying to get control of anything."

Ferguson was handed a director's role at the club after announcing his retirement following a 27-year tenure at Old Trafford.
