Juan Mata: 'Manchester United must remain focused'

Juan Mata says that Manchester United will take a great deal of confidence from their 3-0 victory over Liverpool heading into their hectic festive fixture list.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata hailed his side's "massive" victory against Liverpool before warning his teammates to remain focused following their recent revival.

The Red Devils extended their winning run in the Premier League to six matches courtesy of a 3-0 victory over their arch rivals this afternoon, thanks in no small part to a star showing from goalkeeper David de Gea.

Speaking after the match Mata, who scored United's second goal, told BBC Sport: "No game against Liverpool is easy but it was massive for us today. We knew it was massive for our supporters - we pressed hard and scored goals so we did well.

"We are scoring a lot and not conceding and we just need to keep going and carry on. In the second half, we played really well and it is a good confidence boost for December. It's a busy month so we have to keep focused, we don't have much time to enjoy the wins."

United remain in third place in the table following the win at Old Trafford - eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
