David Moyes predicts that Shinji Kagawa will play a "big part" in the 2013-14 season for Manchester United.

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes that midfielder Shinji Kagawa will prove integral to the club's plans in the upcoming season.

The Japan international struggled during his first campaign at Old Trafford, but Moyes has revealed that former manager Sir Alex Ferguson has singled out the 24-year-old to play a big role in the future.

"Sir Alex spoke in glowing terms about him," BBC Sport quotes Moyes as saying.

"He's an exciting young player. He had his first season last year and we're hoping for big things from him.

"I'm sure he will play a big part this season. He's a big talent and hopefully one that will develop and improve over the coming seasons."

Borussia Dortmund, who sold Kagawa to United last summer, are believed to be keen on re-signing the player.
