David Moyes: 'Players desperate to respond to Manchester City defeat'

Manchester United manager David Moyes admits that his players are desperate to deliver a positive response to their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City when they face Aston Villa.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has insisted that his players are aware of the standards that they need to set when representing the club.

United have fallen to successive 3-0 defeats at Old Trafford to Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, and ahead of their home clash with Aston Villa, Moyes has revealed that his players are keen to make amends in front of their own fans.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "The players know exactly what it is to play for Manchester United. They know the standards that they have to set.

"They are hurting as well as me. They are desperate to put it right, and hopefully against Aston Villa, they can show that."

United are currently sitting in seventh position in the Premier League table.
