Former Manchester United midfielder Nani has backed Jose Mourinho to make the club great again after three years of stagnation.
The Portuguese, who took over from Louis van Gaal earlier this summer, faces his first big test in Sunday's Community Shield meeting with Leicester City.
Nani is "100%" confident that compatriot Mourinho is the right man to turn around the Red Devils' fortunes, following disappointing campaigns under David Moyes and Van Gaal since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
"[Mourinho] said a long time ago his dream is to represent United so everyone was expecting one day he would become Manchester United's coach," Sky Sports News quotes Nani as saying.
"Now is that time so let's see how he is going to do. He is an ambitious coach who always wants to win - 100% he will prepare a team that will be much better than in the last years and will try and win titles."
Nani has also tipped Paul Pogba, with whom he spent time at United, to make a big impression at Old Trafford once completing his record-breaking return from Juventus.
"Pogba is a great there are no doubts about that, but the numbers today are different [in terms of] the way the clubs buy the players," he added.
"I don't want to talk about numbers but the player is a fantastic player and any team who buys him will be very well set."
Nani, who spent eight years in Manchester before leaving for Fenerbahce, tasted success with national side Portugal at Euro 2016 this summer.
