Report: Manchester United line up Louis van Gaal, Frank de Boer

Louis van Gaal and Frank de Boer are reportedly being lined up as possible successors to David Moyes, should he be sacked as Manchester United manager.

Manchester United could turn to a Dutch managerial duo Louis van Gaal and Frank de Boer should they decide to sack current boss David Moyes, according to reports.

The Scot has come under pressure after a string of poor results left the Red Devils lying seventh in the Premier League and in danger of exiting the Champions League at the group stages after losing 2-0 to Olympiacos in midweek. United are also out of both domestic cup competitions.

The Sunday People claims that Van Gaal, who has said he is keen to work in the Premier League in the future, has emerged as a genuine contender for the role at Old Trafford.

However, it is thought that the Netherlands manager would have De Boer as his number two, with a view to the Ajax coach eventually succeeding him in the United hotseat.

Van Gaal has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur to replace Tim Sherwood.
