Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof 'training with former club in Sweden'

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is given permission to train with his former club Vasteras SK in Sweden during the coronavirus lockdown.

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is training with his former club in Sweden in an attempt to keep fit during the coronavirus shutdown.

All football in England has been suspended indefinitely as a result of the spread of COVID-19, with the entire United Kingdom in a government-enforced lockdown.

Swedish football is also on hold until further notice having been due to start this weekend, but the country itself is not on lockdown and so teams are still able to train together.

The Daily Mail reports that Lindelof, who has returned home while the postponement takes place, has been allowed by United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to train with his local side Vasteras SK.

The 25-year-old played for the second-tier Swedish outfit from 2007 to 2011, making 40 first-team appearances before joining Benfica and then United.

Lindelof has made 35 appearances for the Red Devils this season, having established himself as part of Solskjaer's first choice centre-back pairing alongside Harry Maguire.
