Danny Welbeck happy with Louis van Gaal appointment

Danny Welbeck reveals that he is happy with the appointment of Louis van Gaal as Manchester United's new manager.

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has revealed that he is happy with the appointment of Louis van Gaal as the club's new manager.

Van Gaal, who will take charge at Old Trafford after the World Cup, signed a three-year deal with United on Monday.

Welbeck believes that the veteran Dutchman is the type of character who will be able to handle the pressure of managing the Red Devils following a disastrous 2013-14 campaign under David Moyes.

"I heard the news and I'm happy," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "He is a great man, a great manager. His CV tells you that he's managed some big clubs."

Van Gaal's previous clubs include Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
