Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim could be working around a defensive selection crisis for his first Premier League match in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
The Red Devils saw both Lisandro Martinez (back/hip) and Victor Lindelof (groin) hurt during the international break, while Harry Maguire is still uncertain as he works his way back from a calf concern.
On the flip side, all of Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia have trained under the new boss, but as all three have spent months on the sidelines - a year and a half in Malacia's case - they should not be thrown back into the first XI just yet.
Amorim is therefore left with the bare bones for his three-man central line, which should no doubt comprise Jonny Evans and Matthijs de Ligt, and potentially Casemiro if none of the aforementioned injury victims recover in time.
Casemiro will be free to deputise in defence if Kobbie Mainoo - who has also trained after a recent thigh issue - is given the green light to partner Manuel Ugarte in the heart of the Man United midfield.
Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui are the obvious options to start as wing-backs, although it will be intriguing to see where Amorim feels that Antony, Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho fit into his system.
The latter is a strong candidate to start alongside Bruno Fernandes as one of two supporting acts to the central striker, likely to be Rasmus Hojlund as Joshua Zirkzee's struggles continue.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Onana; De Ligt, Casemiro, Evans; Dalot, Ugarte, Mainoo, Mazraoui; Fernandes, Hojlund, Garnacho
