Late drama was the order of the day on another captivating weekend of Premier League action as both Liverpool and Manchester City came from behind to seal valuable 2-1 victories on Saturday.
The champions were forced to wait until the 86th minute for their winner against Southampton at the Etihad Stadium, at which point Liverpool still trailed Aston Villa until a late double saw them dig out yet another win to keep their six-point lead intact.
A 96th-minute equaliser rescued a point for Everton against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, although that contest was overshadowed by a horrific injury to Andre Gomes.
Spurs were not the only members of the 'big six' to drop points as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United's recent revival was halted by Bournemouth's 1-0 triumph at Dean Court.
Chelsea and Leicester City's top-four ambitions were boosted by wins over Watford and Crystal Palace respectively, while there were also impressive victories for Sheffield United, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion.

It is not often that a goalkeeper who ends up on the losing side earns a place in this team, particularly when they have conceded twice at home, but Ben Foster ensured that things were not much worse in Watford's defeat to Chelsea. The 36-year-old made eight saves at Vicarage Road and almost salvaged a point for his side late on with a header which was brilliantly kept out by opposite number Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Bournemouth's Aaron Ramsdale also deserves a mention for his clean sheet against Man United, although the Cherries are at least represented in the defensive stakes by Steve Cook, who made more clearances and passes than any other Bournemouth player in addition to winning possession six times.
Newcastle duo Ciaran Clark and Federico Fernandez both got on the scoresheet in their 3-2 win at West Ham United, but Leicester's Caglar Soyuncu managed to combine a goal with a clean sheet to earn his place in the XI.
Both full-backs also had crucial attacking roles to play this weekend, with Andrew Robertson popping up with Liverpool's 87th-minute equaliser at Villa Park and Kyle Walker creating Man City's leveller with a fizzing low cross into the box before getting his own name on the scoresheet to win the game in the 86th minute.
Chelsea may have been forced to hang on in the end against Watford, but for the most part Jorginho ran the show from midfield, boasting a 94% pass completion rate including a fine assist for the opening goal after only five minutes.
Sheffield United produced arguably the standout team performance of the weekend as they climbed up to sixth place with a 3-0 triumph over Burnley, and their two goalscorers are both rewarded with a place in the team.
John Fleck added the third before half time, having already seen John Lundstram score twice for the league's surprise package. Lundstram could and perhaps should have gone on to get a hat-trick, while he also boasted the highest passing accuracy from the Sheffield United team.
Lys Mousset also played a major role in the victory by assisting all three goals - even if he only got the slightest touch for one of Lundstram's - continuing his fine form having scored himself in the past two games.
The likes of James Ward-Prowse, Jonjo Shelvey and John McGinn all deserve honourable mentions in midfield, while Wolves' Raul Jimenez was in contention for the centre-forward role, but that spot goes to Tammy Abraham after he scored one and then created the other in Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Watford.
Arguably the most telling contribution of the weekend came from Sadio Mane, who was not at his best for much of the game against Aston Villa but then stepped up when his side really needed him. The in-form winger's cross for Robertson's equaliser was inch perfect, and his header to win it in the 94th minute was as skilful as it was important for the Reds.
