Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly decided whether he would be prepared to sign for Manchester United.

De Ligt has accumulated 61 starts and 12 substitute outings during his two seasons at the Allianz Arena, establishing himself as a regular option under different head coaches.

However, having spent time in and out of the team during 2023-24, an exit from the Bundesliga outfit during the summer transfer window appears increasingly likely.

In recent days, it has been widely reported that Man United hold an interest in signing the Netherlands international, who is no stranger to head coach Erik ten Hag.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca is reportedly interested in a player that he is familiar with from his days at Manchester City.

The Blues are currently in the process of making several additions to their ranks with Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu having already arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also taken to social media to confirm that he is on the brink of joining his former boss in West London.

At some point, the assumption is that Chelsea will sign a more experienced name given that Thiago Silva has left a hole in the dressing room.

Chelsea have confirmed that they have signed Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Blues are no strangers to doing business with their counterparts at the King Power Stadium having appointed Enzo Maresca as their new head coach at the beginning of June.

Maresca has now returned to Leicester himself to acquire the services of one of his former key men with Dewsbury-Hall making the anticipated switch to Stamford Bridge.

Dewsbury-Hall has penned a contract with the West Londoners until 2029 having allegedly completed a £30m transfer.

Manchester City and Newcastle United are reportedly 'best placed' to sign Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

Araujo has made 150 competitive appearances since joining Barcelona from Uruguayan side Bostin River in the summer of 2018.

The centre-back has been a regular fixture in the first team for a number of seasons, but it is currently unclear whether he will still be a Barcelona player for the 2024-25 campaign.

Araujo, a Uruguay international, is entering the final two years of his contract, and he is yet to agree an extension with the Calatan giants.

Could Liverpool hijack Man United's Ugarte pursuit?

Paris St Germain's Manuel Ugarte reacts on December 9, 2023
    © Reuters

Manuel Ugarte's agent has indicated that Liverpool have entered the race to sign the Manchester United target this summer.

Ugarte is already being linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain despite only joining the French club in a €60m (£51m) move from Sporting Lisbon last year.

The midfielder made 37 competitive appearances during his first season with PSG, although he failed to start any of the club's Champions League knockout games.

PSG boss Luis Enrique has seemingly been left underwhelmed with Ugarte's overall performances and is prepared to let him leave Parc des Princes this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Celta Vigo forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Gary O'Neil has made no secret of his desire to add a new central striker to his squad for the 2024-25 campaign, a consequence of being left short in that area when injuries struck during the second half of the season.

Working with sporting director Matt Hobbs, the pair have wasted no time in delivering their desired target with Strand Larsen arriving at Molineux on Tuesday.

The Norway international initially joins the West Midlands outfit on a season-long loan deal, with a permanent move being activated if certain clauses are activated.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly showing an interest in signing a goalkeeper who has previously won the Premier League title.

If reports are to be believed, the West Midlands outfit will officially add Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen to their ranks at some point on Tuesday.

The duo will join Rodrigo Gomes in making the switch to Molineux with head coach Gary O'Neil and sporting director Matt Hobbs aiming to be proactive in the transfer market.

Central areas are expected to next be on the agenda with Wolves particularly needing to decide on their desired options for the middle of their backline.

Liverpool are reportedly locked in a battle with at least two Italian clubs for the signature of France international Adrien Rabiot.

He is currently representing his country at Euro 2024, where he has started in all four matches, including Monday's win 1-0 win over Belgium in the last 16.

Rabiot, who will miss Friday's quarter-final against Portugal through suspension, may be focused on his work with the national side, but he will be giving some thought to his uncertain club future.

The 29-year-old midfielder recently hit the free agent market after his Juventus contract expired at the end of June.

Newcastle United playmaker Miguel Almiron is reportedly attracting concrete interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Although Almiron is a cult hero at St James' Park, speculation has persisted that the Magpies are open to offers for the 30-year-old.

Just two years remain on the Paraguay international's contract and it remains to be seen whether he will be offered fresh terms or want to sign them.

According to the Daily Mail, Al Ettifaq are interested in securing a deal for Almiron during the summer transfer window.

Flamengo forward Gabriel Barbosa is reportedly expected to leave the Brazilian giants on a free transfer at the end of 2024.

After failing to make an impact on his switch to European football with Inter Milan during 2016-17, Barbosa has largely spent his time in his homeland.

A total of 150 goals and 40 assists have come from 278 appearances in all competitions during what has been a legendary spell with Flamengo.

However, his agent Junior Pedroso has made a public acknowledgement that he is now free to hold negotiations with other clubs courtesy of ending the final six months of his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of 18-year-old Archie Gray from Leeds United after successfully hijacking Brentford's move for the teenager.

The 2006-born protege - who can play as a right-back or central midfielder - has agreed a six-year contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2030 and will wear the number 14 shirt for the Lilywhites.

Gray becomes Ange Postecoglou's first permanent signing of the summer window and their second overall, following the loan return of RB Leipzig's Timo Werner for the 2024-25 season.

Gray had reportedly attracted interest from a plethora of top European clubs - namely Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Arsenal - on the back of an exceptional breakthrough season at Elland Road, where he set up two goals in 52 games last season.

Man United 'told De Ligt asking price' amid five-year contract offer

    © Reuters

Bayern Munich have reportedly informed Manchester United of their asking price for defender Matthijs de Ligt.

In his two years at the Allianz Arena, De Ligt has managed to accumulate 61 starts and 12 substitute outings in all competitions.

That is a fair return for someone who cost an alleged £65.6m when arriving from Juventus, yet the Netherlands international has never totally settled in Germany.

De Ligt found himself in and out of the team under Thomas Tuchel last season and it remains to be seen who Vincent Kompany will view as his first-choice options for 2024-25.

Manchester City are reportedly giving consideration to making a formal approach for West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus.

Pep Guardiola is currently contemplating his options ahead of the 2024-25 campaign with the Premier League champions yet to come close to making any additions.

That is expected to happen in due course given City's financial position and several players having been linked with taking on a fresh challenge elsewhere.

One of those names is Kevin De Bruyne, the legendary playmaker having just entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Head turned? Newcastle man 'extremely keen' on Liverpool transfer

    © Reuters

Newcastle United have reportedly been left in a position where they have concerns over the mindset of one of their key players.

Not helped by failing to qualify for Europe, the Magpies have just embarked on a desperate attempt to meet the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

The sales of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh for a combined total fee of more than £65m appears to have ensured that they have achieved that target.

However, at times over the past week, several of their more important players have been linked with an exit from St James' Park as club officials began to panic that they may face a points deduction down the line.

Manchester United and Arsenal have seemingly been given a significant boost in their bid to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutchman is attracting plenty of interest after enjoying a productive campaign in his second season as a Bologna player.

Zirkzee scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances to help Bologna achieve Champions League qualification in the 2023-24 season.

The Italian side have already seen manager Thiago Motta leave for Juventus, and they are now facing a battle to keep hold of some of their key players, including their star striker.
