Barcelona are reportedly weighing up a move for Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian, who was used just seven times by the Red Devils last season.

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has emerged as a shock rumoured transfer target for Barcelona.

The 29-year-old was used sparingly by Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season, featuring just seven times in all competitions.

Darmian is used predominantly as a right-back and now finds himself behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order.

Despite seemingly being unwanted by Man United, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barca have been monitoring the Italian's situation and may make a move before the transfer window closes.

Barca are seeking further cover for Jordi Alba on the left side of their backline and allegedly see versatile Darmian as a good option.
