Rio Ferdinand: 'I want to stay at Manchester United'

Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand admits that he would like to stay at the club beyond this season.

Rio Ferdinand has expressed his desire to stay at Manchester United next season.

The 35-year-old defender's contract runs out in the summer, and there has been speculation that Ferdinand will retire at the end of the season.

However, during BT Sport's coverage of Hull City's 5-3 FA Cup semi-final win over Sheffield United this afternoon, Ferdinand said that he wishes to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

"I'm enjoying my football and my legs haven't given way yet," he said.

"I want to continue playing - whether that be at Manchester United or somewhere else, depending what the club want to do. Time will tell. We'll have to wait until the end of the season.

"I'm living the dream and I'd like to continue [at United], but we'll have to wait and see."

Ferdinand has made more than 300 appearances for Manchester United since arriving from Leeds United in 2002.
