Leeds United sign Scott Wootton from Manchester United

Leeds United sign 21-year-old centre-back Scott Wootton on a three-year deal from Manchester United.

Leeds United have completed the signing of centre-half Scott Wootton on a three-year deal from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old, who has had two spells on loan at Peterborough United as well as stints with Tranmere Rovers and Nottingham Forest, appeared in the Champions League and Capital One Cup for the Red Devils last season.

"I'm delighted to have agreed the signing of Scott Wootton on a three-year deal," Sky Sports News quotes McDermott as saying.

"He's a player who has played in the Champions League and someone we feel will develop with us in the coming years.

"I want to say thanks for the owners in doing the deal and bringing another young player to help us go forward."

The former England Under-17 international becomes the fourth new arrival at Elland Road after Luke Murphy, Noel Hunt and Matt Smith.
