Liverpool 'make Kai Havertz top summer target'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will reportedly prioritise the signing of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to make a big-money approach for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz in the summer.

Despite being just 20 years of age, Havertz has already established himself as Leverkusen's key man, contributing 33 goals from 131 appearances in all competitions.

The playmaker's form has naturally led to widespread interest in his signature, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich having previously been linked with putting forward a bid.

According to The Express, they will face stiff competition from Liverpool as a result of Jurgen Klopp prioritising the addition of the Germany international.

With Adam Lallana expected to leave Anfield on a free transfer, the Merseyside giants are prepared to spend a significant chunk of their transfer budget on Havertz.

Leverkusen have allegedly set the player's asking price at £107m, although Liverpool will likely look to negotiate a lower fee.
