The absence of Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United's friendly with Leeds United is reportedly the beginning of a process which may see the Belgian leave Old Trafford.
Despite having three years remaining on his contract, both Lukaku and United are said to be open to a change as Inter Milan continue to try to agree a fee with the Premier League side.
Lukaku has still travelled with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad to Australia and Asia for a number of pre-season matches, although the Belgium international was absent from the squad which registered a 4-0 win over Leeds United on Wednesday.
Solskjaer said that the 26-year-old was 'not ready' to feature, but Sky Sports News claims that the development was a result of the player potentially leaving the club in the near future.
Coincidentally, United face Inter at the weekend, meaning that it is unlikely that Lukaku will be given any minutes in that fixture.
