Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Andre Onana's agent about a possible transfer.
The Red Devils could be in the market for a new number one, with uncertainty surrounding the future of David de Gea.
The Spaniard's current contract will expire at the end of the month, and Man United have decided against activating a one-year extension.
Instead, they have been keen to negotiate a new long-term deal, which would involve a reduction to his £375,000 a week wages.
Man United were initially confident of a deal being agreed, but there is now a belief that De Gea is unwilling to accept a significant pay cut.

With his contract set to expire in a week, Man United have identified Onana as a potential replacement for the 32-year-old.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils have stepped up their pursuit with further exploratory talks over a deal with the player's agent, Albert Botines.
Man United have also held initial discussions with Inter, and they are hopeful that a transfer could be agreed for around £45m.
The 20-time English champions will decide whether to move forward with the transfer once a final decision has been made on De Gea's future.
Onana, who previously played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, has four years left to run on his contract after joining Inter last summer.

During his first season with the club, the goalkeeper kept 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances, helping his side win the Italian Super Cup and the Coppa Italia.
Onana also recorded eight shutouts in 13 Champions League games, as Inter made their way to the final where they were narrowly beaten by Manchester City.
Man United have also been linked with a move for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya, who was a target for Tottenham Hotspur.
However, they could have a clear run at the Spain international, with Spurs set to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
The Red Devils have also considered a number of alternative options, including Porto's Diogo Costa and Anderlecht's Bart Verbruggen.
