Manchester United could sanction the sales of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling ahead of next season, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly sanction the sales of Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling when this summer's transfer window opens for business.

Smalling has spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan with Roma, and the Italian outfit have said on a number of occasions that they are keen on a permanent deal for the Englishman.

Rojo, meanwhile, joined Estudiantes on loan in January, having struggled for action in the first half of the season.

Jones has been a part of United's first-team squad this term, but the centre-back has only made eight appearances, while he has only featured once in the Premier League since the end of November.

According to the Manchester Evening News, head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could sanction the sales of all three defenders ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 20-time English champions have been credited with an interest in Swansea City's Joe Rodon, while Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly continues to be mentioned as a possible arrival.
