Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Barcelona regarding a potential move for right-back Nelson Semedo.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have been linked with a number of moves in the January transfer window following an inconsistent start to the season, although it was believed that the Red Devils would mostly be pursuing midfielders and more attacking options.
However, reports in Spain indicate that United are interested in the Portuguese defender and that they have made some initial contacts with him, the club and his agent Jorge Mendes.
While United spent £50m on new right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer, the reports indicate that the Manchester club are hoping to convert Semedo into a right-winger.
The 26-year-old has made 65 league appearances for the Catalan giants since making the switch from Benfica in July 2017.
