Manchester United forward Anthony Martial was reportedly open to joining Arsenal in January as part of the swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez arrive at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial will reportedly push for a move away from Manchester United after being left disappointed that he was not allowed to discuss terms with Arsenal in January.

The 22-year-old has been heavily tipped to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season after struggling for regular playing time under Jose Mourinho.

Arsenal are among the clubs to have been linked with the France international, who The Times reports was open to discussing a move to the Emirates Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Martial is said to have made clear his annoyance after missing out on a switch to North London as part of the deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move the opposite way, and four starts in 13 league games since then has only made the situation worse.

Mourinho now sees the former Monaco ace as third choice on the left of United's attack, behind January recruit Sanchez and fellow youngster Marcus Rashford.
