Nuno: 'Nicolas Otamendi to join up with Valencia'

Valencia boss Nuno says that wantaway defender Nicolas Otamendi is due to link up with Los Che on Sunday following the Copa America.

Valencia boss Nuno has insisted that wantaway centre-back Nicolas Otamendi will link up with the Spanish club in Germany.

The Argentine international has been strongly linked with a move away from Los Che this summer, with Manchester United believed to lead the race.

However, according to Nuno, Otamendi will be linking up with the team later on Sunday as Valencia hold out for the player's release clause.

"Otamendi will travel, be with us and show up (on Sunday) and on Monday, we will all travel to prepare for what remains left of the pre-season, with complete normality. I will speak to all the players," Nuno told reporters.

The 27-year-old, who was given an extended break following his exertions at the Copa America this summer, is believed to have a release clause in the region of £35m.
