Report: Atletico Madrid to begin talks with Manchester United's Juan Mata

Atletico Madrid are reportedly due to open talks with Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata regarding a summer move.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly planning to open talks with Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata regarding a summer transfer.

It was recently reported that Mata would be one of the players sold should Jose Mourinho take over at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

A handful of Chinese Super League clubs are believed to be interested in the 27-year-old, but according to Fichajes.net, a move to Atletico could be on the cards.

The report adds that the La Liga side are confident of sealing a deal, but nothing has yet been agreed between the parties.

Mata joined United from Chelsea for a £37.1m fee in January 2014.
