Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly insisted that he would like to sign both Sergio Ramos and Nicolas Otamendi this summer.
The Red Devils were strongly linked with Valencia centre-back Otamendi last month, but the interest in the Argentine was believed to have waned following suggestions that Real Madrid's Ramos was keen to sign on at Old Trafford.
However, according to AS, Van Gaal has instructed chief executive Ed Woodward to push ahead with deals for both players.
It has been said that United recently failed with a £29m bid for Spanish international Ramos, while it is thought that Otamendi would set them back a fee in that region.
