Report: Manchester United table record bid for Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller

Manchester United reportedly table a club-record £59.8m bid for Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller.

Manchester United have allegedly launched a club-record bid for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller.

The Red Devils have offered €85m (£59.8m) for the Germany international, according to Bild.

Muller has been linked with United all summer, with the Premier League side rumoured to have had two previous bids rejected.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge rubbished speculation linking Muller with a move to Old Trafford only last month, while the player himself has downplayed reports that he could leave the Bundesliga champions.

Muller found the net twice last weekend as Bayern thrashed Hamburger SV 5-0 in Bavaria.

United's current record signing is Angel di Maria, who cost £59.7m when he joined from Real Madrid in 2014.
