Report: Robin van Persie wants £12m Manchester United payoff

A report suggests that Robin van Persie will demand a £12m payoff from Manchester United for the final year of his contract before he leaves the club.

Robin van Persie has reportedly demanded a £12m payoff from Manchester United to leave the club.

The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, and is said to have agreed terms with Fenerbahce.

United are prepared to allow the Dutchman to leave for just £5m to get his £250,000 per week salary off their wage bill as the Turkish side are willing to match the value of his contract.

However, Van Persie wants the Red Devils to pay up the final year of his deal with the club worth £12m before he leaves Old Trafford, reports The Mirror.

Besiktas and Galatasaray have also been linked with a move for the striker.
