Southampton deny players in talks to leave club

Southampton director Les Reed denies reports that the likes of Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw are in talks with other clubs regarding summer moves.

Southampton director Les Reed has rejected reports that a number of their high-profile players are in talks with other clubs regarding possible summer moves.

Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw have been widely touted as potential departures, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all being linked with their services.

However, on Friday, Reed told reporters: "Reports that some of our players are negotiating transfers are misinformed. As we stand, there have been no enquiries or offers for any of our players. That is the truth."

Reports emerged overnight claiming that United are prepared to offer £55m for Lallana and Shaw this summer.
