Manchester United and Liverpool both want to sign Birmingham City youngster Romello Mitchell, according to a report.

Manchester United and Liverpool are both reportedly interested in signing Birmingham City youngster Romello Mitchell.

Mitchell, who only turned 16 earlier this month, was on the scoresheet for Birmingham's Under-16 side in their 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday Under-16s on Saturday.

According to the Daily Mail, scouts from both United and Liverpool were in attendance to watch Mitchell, who has also been a regular goalscorer for Birmingham's Under-18 team this season.

However, the same report has also claimed that a number of Championship clubs are closely monitoring developments with the view to signing the striker.

Mitchell has played against both United and Liverpool at youth level this season, scoring twice against the latter in the Under-16s Blades Cup final last month.
