Maribor fight back to hold Sevilla

Sevilla are held to a 2-2 draw by Maribor in the Europa League.

Maribor and Sevilla played out a 2-2 draw in the Europa League this evening.

The home side took the lead just after the half-hour mark when Marcos Tavares turned the ball home inside the box.

However, the La Liga side restored parity after the break when Kevin Gameiro converted Ivan Rakitic's cross moments after missing an earlier chance.

Federico Fazio then put the visitors ahead on 72 minutes when he scored from close range following Rakitic's corner.

The home side fought back late on through Dare Vrsic when he powered an effort into the bottom corner.

Vicente Iborra spurned a late chance for Sevilla as he blasted the ball straight into the arms of Jasmin Handanovic in the Maribor goal.
