Half-Time Report: Millwall lead at The Den

Millwall take a 2-1 lead into the break against Burnley in their Championship match at The Den.

Millwall have taken a 2-1 lead into half time in their Championship clash with Burnley at The Den this afternoon.

Nicky Bailey had a shot at goal in the eighth minute, but his long-range drive was stopped by Tom Heaton.

The visitors had a good spell of possession early on, but created few chances, the best of which fell to Danny Ings, who saw his shot blocked inside the box.

The Lions broke the deadlock 23 minutes in as a blocked effort from Martyn Woolford dropped to Scott McDonald, who was able to smash the ball in from the centre of the penalty area.

Danny Shittu doubled the hosts' advantage shortly before half time, drilling in a right-footed effort from outside the box, but Sam Vokes was able to get one back for the visitors less than a minute later with a header from close range.
