Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Millwall

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Championship clash between struggling Huddersfield and Millwall at the John Smith's Stadium.

Two sides struggling for form in the Championship will meet this Saturday as Huddersfield Town entertain Millwall at the John Smith's Stadium.

The hosts go into the match looking to bounce back from a demoralising 3-0 defeat to fierce local rivals Leeds United, a result that made it six games without a win in all competitions.

They have picked up just two points from the last 15 available in the league, with new manager Chris Powell struggling to really get going at the club.

The Terriers have scored just once since he was appointed, and find themselves in the relegation zone with the second-worst goal difference in the league after eight matches.

Only bottom-of-the-table Fulham have conceded more goals this season, and that is an issue Powell will need to fix sooner rather than later if he is to drag his side away from the bottom three.

As a result, Tommy Smith could come back into the side, while further forward there could also be a recall for striker Jon Stead alongside Nahki Wells.

Millwall have not had the best of times either recently and find themselves sliding down the table after a highly promising start to the campaign.

They have only managed to beat struggling Blackpool in their last six league outings, although a goalless draw with leaders Nottingham Forest in their most recent match is cause for optimism.

Goalscoring has been an issue for the Lions so far this season, with centre-back Mark Beevers leading the way with two to his name.

He is expected to start once again, but he will not be alongside Carlos Edwards in defence after the Trinidad & Tobago international suffered a serious knee injury last weekend.

Lee Martin is also sidelined for the match, but Chris Eagles could feature having enjoyed a successful trial with the club recently.
