Adam Smith's volley sees Millwall overcome Bristol City at The New Den.

Millwall have avoided a fourth Championship game without a win by triumphing 2-1 over Bristol City 2-1 at The New Den.

The Robins did not get into the game in the first half and were punished by Dany N'Guessan, who struck the opener in the 19th minute.

However, Derek McInnes's men were rejuvenated after the break and got back on level terms through Jon Stead.

The 29-year-old latched onto a long ball over the top before slotting past David Forde in the Millwall goal.

The Lions retook the lead through Adam Smith, who volleyed past Tom Heaton with 75 minutes on the clock.

That proved to be the decisive moment as Millwall went on to secure their first win in three matches.
