Brighton & Hove Albion have moved to the top of the Championship with a 2-1 win over 10-man Millwall this afternoon.
Both sides started the match with chances to take an early lead. First, Thomas Kuszczak did well to keep out Chris Wood's header before both Wayne Bridge and Will Buckley came close at the other end.
Brighton took the lead after 17 minutes through Ashley Barnes, who thumped his shot in from close range having been found by Buckley.
Buckley almost doubled this lead himself when he rounded keeper David Forde, only to see his shot cleared off the line by Shane Lowry.
The visitors did extend their lead five minutes into the second half when Adam El-Abd fired Dean Hammond's knock down past Forde.
Barnes almost doubled his personal tally by getting on the end of Gary Dicker's cross, but his header was cleared off the line.
The hosts were then reduced to 10 men when Chris Taylor was shown a second yellow after being judged to have caught Kuszczak late.
Millwall were still able to grab a goal back, however, as Wood scored a fine goal to put his side back into the match.
They couldn't find another, though, as Brighton picked up all three points to continue their fine run of form.
