Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Lens

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Lens.

Montpellier vs. Lyon (Saturday, 4.00pm)

Two Ligue 1 sides who have undergone recent managerial changes will aim to pick up their first win of their respective new eras on Saturday, as Montpellier HSC entertain Lyon at the Stade de la Mosson.

Olivier Dall'Oglio's time in the Paillade dugout came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Lens last time out, while Laurent Blanc's Lyon stint began with a 3-2 defeat to Rennes.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-2 Lyon

There were plenty of things to like about Lyon's first performance under Blanc, and facing a Montpellier side who are also in disarray could be just the ticket for Les Gones to end their winless habit.

It is always difficult to predict the outcome of matches where two newly-hired managers pit their wits against one another, but the firepower at Blanc's disposal could see him come out on top over Montpellier's Pitau, whose own difference makers in the final third can spark an intriguing contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Marseille vs. Lens (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Two sides with aspirations of a top-three finish in Ligue 1 prepare for battle at the Orange Velodrome on Saturday evening, as Marseille face off against Lens.

The hosts fell to a 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Le Classique last weekend, while Franck Haise's side secured victory by the same scoreline against Montpellier HSC.

We say: Marseille 1-1 Lens

Away days have not been Lens' specialities this term, and a Marseille side determined to bounce back from their Classique defeat and return to the top three at Les Sang et Or's expense are to be taken very seriously indeed.

While Marseille ought to have no trouble finding the back of the net at home, a lack of options in the heart of defence should leave Haise's side feeling confident about their chances of coming away with a well-earned point to their name.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
