Half-Time Report: Leonardo Ulloa, Wes Morgan give Leicester City lead

Early goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Wes Morgan give Leicester City a 2-0 lead over Newcastle United at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City have cruised to a 2-0 half-time lead over Newcastle United in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

The home side took less than 40 seconds to open the scoring after forcing a corner straight from kickoff, allowing Leonardo Ulloa to lose Moussa Sissoko before heading into the back of the net.

The striker was involved again inside the opening 10 minutes as he looked to nod the ball past Tim Krul again, but this time the Newcastle keeper was able to make the save.

The Foxes doubled their lead with just over quarter of an hour gone though, as Daryl Janmaat brought Jeff Schlupp down just outside the box, leaving Jamie Vardy to tee it up for captain Wes Morgan to slice in.

Newcastle's first real chance of the match fell to Emmanuel Riviere when he was set up by Jack Colback for an attempt from the edge of the box, but it finished in the side-netting.

The visitors started to pose more of a threat in the final minutes of the opening period, with Ryan Taylor forcing the first save of the match from Kasper Schmeichel, while Riviere played his way in again, but lose control of the ball.
