Alan Pardew has said that new signing Papiss Cisse got off to the perfect start for Newcastle United.
The £10m striker took the number nine shirt and scored the winner in Newcastle's 2-1 win over Aston Villa yesterday.
"It's Boy's Own annual stuff, that goal," Pardew said. "But if you are going to wear that jersey at Newcastle you need a good start and he has had that.
"His performance was such that any Newcastle fan would be nudging their mates and saying 'We have got a good one here'.
"He looked a threat and his goal was something special and lifted the roof off the place."
Newcastle are currently fifth in the Premier League with 42 points from 24 games.
