Rafael Benitez returns to work at Newcastle United after eventually recovering from a hernia operation, which forced him out of Sunday's game against Swansea.

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has returned to work after being given the all-clear by doctors following a hernia operation.

The Spaniard was absent from the dugout for Sunday's 1-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

The former Liverpool boss suffered a groin problem after undergoing surgery, but he is now ready to resume his duties after returning to the club's training base this morning.

Benitez will now switch his focus to the next challenge, which will be a Premier League match against Stoke City this Saturday at St James' Park.

The North-East outfit currently reside 10th in the table following two wins and two defeats.
