Georginio Wijnaldum has claimed that it felt like a "dream come true" as he scored four goals to lead Newcastle United to a 6-2 triumph over Norwich City on Sunday.
The Dutchman, who joined the club from PSV Eindhoven in the summer, was the hero for the Magpies as they claimed a first Premier League victory of the season to relieve the pressure on Steve McClaren.
After experiencing such a tough start to life in England, Wijnaldum admits that it was a huge confidence boost ahead of next weekend's Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland.
"It was a beautiful game for me, the whole team and the fans in the stadium. But especially for me as I scored four goals," the 24-year-old told Sky Sports News.
"It's wonderful, like a dream come true for me.
"If you score and you get a result, you are happier. It gives you a better feeling. To get four, be part of the first win and work hard is great. It will give us a lot of confidence for the next match."
Newcastle head into the game against Sunderland on the back of five successive defeats to their rivals.
