Mathieu Debuchy laughs off speculation that he could leave Newcastle United for Monaco this summer.

Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy has rejected suggestions that he could sign for Monaco this summer.

The France international has been linked with the newly-promoted Ligue 1 club, who have already clinched the signatures of Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez.

"I saw it, but with Monaco, there are new names of players every day," the Shields Gazette quotes Debuchy as saying. "It makes me smile."

Debuchy moved to St James' Park from Lille in the January transfer window.
